French Minister of Defence Jean-Yves Le Drian on Monday toured the ongoing construction work at the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum.

Accompanied by members of the French Government, Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Development and Investment Company, Sufian H. Al Marzooqi, senior TDIC representatives, Le Drian saw first-hand the advanced stages of building work for the new museum.

These included the completed dome’s ‘rain of light’ effect, preparations for the controlled flooding of various areas within the museum, and the extensive security measures put into place to protect visitors and the artworks.

Once completed, Louvre Abu Dhabi will feature Permanent Galleries, a Temporary Gallery, a Children’s Museum and an auditorium, in addition to its rich array of artworks, which visitors can admire across 9,200 square metres of display space.
