Dubai Municipality impounded 394 vehicles without number plates in the last three months, reported ‘Al Bayan’.

The owners of these vehicles will face a fine between Dh500 and Dh1,000, said Dubai Municipality official.

Obeid Ibrahim Al Marzouqi, Head, Marketing Department, Dubai Municipality, the step was taken under the directives Hassan Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, after receiving several complaints from public. Most often car owners and traders leave their vehicles at showrooms and marketplaces, if they are no longer in good condition. This causes traffic jams and congestion, he added.

Marzouqi said the municipality has distributed leaflets to create awareness among the public.
