'Any malevolent attempt will not affect fraternal relations with Egypt'

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has stressed that the deep historical relations between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Arab Republic of Egypt are a source of pride to the leaderships and peoples of the two countries and that any malevolent attempt will not affect the strong and growing fraternal relations.
 
This came during a telephone call General Mohamed received from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt, when Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE's support for Egypt's leadership, government and people in their quest for stability and security and to support efforts of the development process to meet the aspirations and interests of the brotherly Egyptian people.
 
Sheikh Mohamed affirmed that the UAE is following this approach out of its belief in Egypt's central and historical role, as it is considered the valve for the stability and safety of the whole region.
 
General Mohamed expressed his full confidence in the ability of the Egyptian people and their leadership to face all the challenges and move forward in the way of success and achieve security, stability and progress.
 
The Egyptian President commended UAE's stances, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, supporting Egypt and its people, highlighting the UAE's special place among the Egyptian people.
 
The Egyptian President also stressed the strong relations between the two countries, which have continued through the noble Emirati stances, as established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, that will not be forgotten by the Egyptian people, noting that these strong relations will not be affected by any tendentious attempts aiming at destabilising regional stability and the unity of the Arab nation.
 
The call touched on the distinguished brotherly relations between the two countries and aspects of ongoing cooperation in addition to exchanging views on developments in the region and issues of mutual concern.

 
UAE Air Forces' F-16 squadron arrives in Jordan

 
The UAE Air Force and Air Defence's F-16 Squadron, ordered to be stationed in Jordan by His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, arrived here today.
 
The initiative expresses the stance of the people, the government and the leadership of the UAE with fraternal Jordan at all levels and in all arenas, and reaffirms the UAE's unwavering and constant solidarity with Jordan and its leading role and immense sacrifices for the security and stability of the region and in support of the military efforts of the Jordanian Armed Forces, the Jordan Arab Army, and their effective participation in the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL (Daesh).
 
The UAE's initiative to support Jordan's official and popular stance emanates from its deep belief in the need for collection Arab cooperation to eliminate terrorism, through actions and words, and bolster the security, stability and moderation of the nation by collectively encountering these terrorist gangs and their misleading ideology and brutal practices.
 
Upon arrival at a Jordanian airbase, the UAE force was received by the airbase commander who welcomed them and praised in a statement the historic ties between the UAE and Jordan, thanks to their leadership's support.
 
He also lauded the UAE's fraternal stances towards Jordan and pledged provision of all facilities to the UAE force by Jordan Arab Army throughout their mission.
 
Immediately after the leadership's order to station the F-16 Squadron in Jordan, the UAE Air Force and Air Defence proceeded with equipping the squadron with pilots, technicians, equipment, aerial fuelling aircraft and the C-14 aircraft for strategic airlift.
 
The UAE Air Force and Air Defence's Airbus military aerial refueling conducted an air-to-air refueling mission en-route to Jordan.
 
The UAE Air Force and Air Defence is credited with abilities for in-theatre strategic and speedy transportation, thanks to its fleet of modern fighters and strategic transportation aircraft.
 
Colonel Pilot Saeed Hassan, Commander of the UAE Force in Jordan, offered condolences to the Kingdom on the death of martyr and hero, Moaz al-Kasasbeh. He affirmed the Force's readiness to conduct missions in coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces.
 
"Our presence in Jordan is aimed at offering support to Jordan Arab Army in encountering Dae'sh terrorist group and providing all forms of operational support," he said.
 
"We thank our wise leadership for selecting us to carry out this mission. We represent the leadership, the government and the people of the UAE and are determined to affirm our solidarity with and stand by the leadership, the government and the people of Jordan through our effective participation in the global coalition to counter Dae'sh," he added.
