Emiratisation at heart strategy: Maktoum

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed chairs Dubai Executive Council's meeting (Wam)

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, stressed today that Emiratisation and national identity will take centre stage at the Dubai Executive Council's top priorities in 2013 in line with the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to dedicate 2013 as the year of Emiratisation.

“Directives of the leadership don't want us to satisfy with excellence only but to be number one and this requires joint efforts from all government entities to reach that goal,” Sheikh Maktoum said while presiding over the Council's meeting today.

He also instructed the Council's members to maintain strong contact and coordinate efforts to push these priorities forward.

During the meeting, the Council discussed Dubai strategic plan which features economic and social development, health, safety, security, justice, infrastructure, environment and government development.

The Council also reviewed findings of analysis of workforce in Dubai government and other demographic, human resources, job classification, and regulatory indexes.

Sheikh Maktoum also gave directives to increase the number of national employees in sectors where Emiratisation is under the mark.
