GDMO sets up Arab Media Forum Organizing Committee

The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) has announced the formation of an Organizing Committee to be tasked with the development of the “Arab Media Forum” (AMF), consolidating its position as the largest and dedicated platform where media personalities and decision makers assemble under one roof periodically, and highlighting its role in providing further impetus to its topics and discussions; consequently, contributing to the progress of media in all Arab countries.

The Organizing Committee will be chaired by Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), Mona Al Marri with the Director of Government Media Affairs Maryam Bin Fahad as vice chairperson, in addition to the appointment of representatives from the GDMO and Dubai Press Club (DPC) as members.

Director General of GDMO, Mona Al Marri said: “The unremitting support of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum paved the way for the AMF to assume a leading role and impose itself as a media platform of dialogue in the Arab world. Over the past eleven years, the AMF has gained momentum in assessing the media landscape, offering the required support for media experts and decision makers through recommendations and insights on the most prominent developments in the industry. "

Al Marri went on to explain that reaching such a remarkable level of maturity and distinction only comes with increased responsibilities that necessitate taking the Forum to the next stage of quality improvement so as to maintain its position as a springboard to launch innovative ideas and build on the accomplishments achieved over the past decade, in addition continuing to support media talents and Arab Media.

Moreover, Al Marri affirmed that the new Organizing Committee will benefit from the young Emirati leadership capabilities that have formed the new organizational structure of GDMO, stating that their expertise will open up new horizons towards establishing the forum’s position regionally and globally. Implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, the Organizing Committee will adopt a developmental approach towards upgrading projects and media initiatives in the UAE.

Members of the Arab Media Forum Organizing Committee include Muna Busamra, Saud Alderbi, Salem Bel Youha Abdulla Al Mansoori, Adel Omar, Sadiq Jarrar, Adel Ibrahim and Nadine Allahham. 

The Committee will be tasked with determining the strategic direction of the Forum’s program; developing media plans and identifying priorities; applying best practices to keep up to date on the latest developments and expand AMF’s regional and global partners; working on areas of improvement and timely executions; preparing operative plans; in addition to coordinating and managing hospitality affairs and participations. 

The 12th edition of the Arab Media Forum (AMF) will be held on May 14-15 2013. Registration for the two-day event is open for those wishing to participate from inside or outside the country.
