Gen. Mohamed receives Czech president

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President Milos Zeman of the Czech Republic, have held talks to discuss the friendly relations and cooperation between their two countries and ways of promoting and supporting these relations in the service of their mutual interests.

The talks took place at Al Mushrif Palace where the Crown Prince received President Zeman who is on an official visit to the UAE.

Welcoming the Czech president and his accompanying delegation, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his hope that Zeman's visit would further enhance the friendship and cooperation between the UAE and the Czech Republic.

During their meeting, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations and the importance of promoting them in the domains of economy and development, in particular, in the service of the aspirations of their two countries.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasised that the UAE, under the leadership of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, looks forward to excellent and well-developed relations with the Czech Republic in order to promote the development and progress of both countries and bolster their bilateral relations in various spheres.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said, "Our meeting with you today is an opportunity for a new start in the trajectory of the bilateral relations towards further growth and development. Through such meeting between the officials of our two countries, we look forward to exchanging views, proposals and ideas on the most important ways of guaranteeing a new stage of fruitful cooperation for the achievement of desired goals of forging important partnerships as well as for benefiting from the available potential to serve the two friendly peoples."

For his part, the Czech president expressed his delight at visiting the UAE and discussing ways of bolstering friendship and cooperation with the UAE in various spheres. He also hailed the ongoing progress and development in the UAE as well as the country's outstanding contributions to development and humanitarian action in particular.

President Zeman also expressed his country's desire for maintaining the best relations with the UAE and for cooperation between the two countries that would serve their interests and help achieve important results in the domains of economy and development.

The two sides also discussed the overall regional and international developments and exchanged views on a number of matters of mutual concern.

Earlier on Thursday, an official welcome ceremony was held in the courtyard of Al Mushrif Palace for President Zeman where he and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed shook hands before proceeding to a raised platform where they paused as the national anthems of the UAE and the Czech Republic were played and a 21-gun salute was fired in honour of the guest.

President Zeman then shook hands with sheikhs and senior officials from the UAE while Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed shook hands with the members of the Czech delegation.

The meeting was attended by Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister; Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs; Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA); Staff Lt. General, Military Advisor to Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander of Dubai Police; Staff Major General Eisa bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, and a number of senior Emirati officials.

The Czech officials attending the meeting included the Czech president's Chief of Staff, Vratislav Mynar; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Martin Tlapa; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Vladimir Bartl; and Ambassador to the UAE, Alexander Sporish.

Later, Sheikh Mohamed hosted a luncheon in honour of President Zeman and his delegation.

Diplomatic relations between the UAE and the Czech Republic were established in 1993. Trade between the two countries went up $454 million in 2013. The two countries signed a number of agreements on air transport, double taxation and investment protection.



Mohamed bin Zayed receives Egyptian PM

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb, who is visiting the country to attend the Government Summit 2015, here on Thursday evening.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the Egyptian prime minister and his accompanying delegation and praised the level of Egypt's participation at the summit.

The meeting, which was attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, discussed fraternal ties between the UAE and Egypt, and ways to strengthen them.

Mehleb briefed Sheikh Mohamed on the economic reforms by the Egyptian government, as well as preparations for the economic summit in support of development in Egypt.

Sheikh Mohamed expressed his wishes for a successful summit and reiterated UAE's support to the ongoing development programmes aimed at restoring Egypt's pivotal role in the region.

Mehleb lauded UAE's supportive stance towards Egypt and conveyed the greetings of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the UAE leadership, government and people.

Sheikh Mohamed and Mehleb exchanged views on a number of regional issues of mutual interest.

Among those present were Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and Chairman of the Coordination Office for Development Projects in Egypt, Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Ehab Hamouda, Egyptian Ambassador and members of the delegation accompanying the Egyptian prime minister.

 

Mohamed bin Zayed receives Prince Charles

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Thursday received the Heir Apparent to the British Throne, Prince Charles of Wales, who is here on a short visit to the UAE as part of his tour to the region.

Welcoming Prince Charles, General Mohamed noted the historic and solid relations between the UAE and the United Kingdom, based on solid foundations of mutual interest and common will.

General Mohamed and Prince Charles discussed the outstanding friendship and relations between the UAE and the United Kingdom that are within the framework of their historic ties and strategic interests.

The two sides had exchanges on ways of promoting bilateral relations and joint action in the service of the interest of their two countries and their peoples.

They also explored regional and international developments and matters of mutual interest for the two countries.

Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Philip Parham, British Ambassador to the UAE, and members of the delegation accompanying Prince Charles, attended the meeting.
