Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Chairperson of the UAE Nursing and Midwifery Council, on Sunday chaired the council's first meeting in 2015.
The meeting was attended by Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health, Essa Al Haj Al Maidoor, Director-General of Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Raja Al Gurg, Vice-Chairperson of Dubai Healthcare City, Nasser Khalifa Al Budoor, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, as well as representatives of other ministries, health authorities and universities.
During the meeting, the participants discussed a number of healthcare issues including work environment, management, standards, safety, job satisfaction, continuous professional training as well as ways of improving the attractiveness of nursing and midwifery for nationals.
