Khalifa orders pension hike for federal govt pensioners

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a resolution raising the minimum salary of pensioners at the UAE Armed Forces and Federal Government to Dh10,000 monthly as of January 2012.

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan received on Monday at Al Rawdha Palace the Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Khaled bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, who conveyed to him the best wishes of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.

The Qatari minister also delivered to Sheikh Khalifa a message from Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, wife of Emir of Qatar, and UNESCO Special Envoy for Basic and Higher Education, expressing gratitude to the UAE for its participation in the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations forum which Doha hosted on 11 December 2011.

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Umm al-Qaiwain, represented the UAE President in the meeting.

Sheikh Khalifa asked the Qatari minister to convey to Sheikh Hamad his best wishes for good health and happiness and for more progress and prosperity to the Qatari people.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Qatyari Ambassador to UAE Abdullah Mohamed al-Othman and a number of senior officials.
