Mohammed attends Giants Endurance Challenge

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today the first leg of the Giants Endurance Challenge, held at the Emirates International Endurance Village, Al Wathba.

Organized by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, the 120km-race was held as per the directives of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and supervised and supported by his Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival.

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler and Finance Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, National Security Advisor  and Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Amiri Flights also watched the race which was held under the patronage of Emirates Airlines.

Eighty-four contestants, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, participated in the race.

The Al Wathba Stables’ G. M. Navidad , ridden by Ali Al Jahwari, galloped home to win the the Bentley car, with the owner receiving prize money.

After the race, Director General of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi, Director of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival Lara Sawaya and General Enterprises Establishment General Manager Saif Al Awani honoured the winners.

Al Nuaimi thanked Sheikh Mohammed and the other sheikhs who attended the race, saying their attendance gave an impetus to the race.
