Mohammed attends HCT men's graduation

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended on Wednesday  the graduation ceremony of 447 students of Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) men, at the Dubai Academy City's theatre.

The ceremony commenced with the arrival of Sheikh Mohammed, sponsor of the ceremony, accompanied by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

Mohammed Hassan Omran Al Shamsi, Chancellor of the HCT, commended in his opening speech, the unlimited support from the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,  His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Members of Supreme Council, Their Highnesses Rulers of Emirates, to the HCT students and graduates. He added that their support made HCT a prestigious educational institution nationwide.

He congratulated the graduates and their relatives, urging the graduates to enroll in a national work to score national objectives in line with the vision of leadership to make the UAE No. 1 state in all fields.

Representative of the graduates, Abdullah Khalifa Al Mohairi, thanked the UAE leadership on taking interest in youth through provision of more educational and work opportunities so as to contribute to building of the country.

Sheikh Mohammed, flanked by Al Shamsi, presented the certificates to 20 outstanding students, and greeted them for the academic feat. He urged them to continue excellence.

Sheikh Maktoum, flanked by Dr. Tayeb Al Kamali, Vice-Chancellor of the HCT, presented the certificates to 447 graduates, including the graduates from Khalifa bin Zayed Air College in Al Ain and Rashid bin Saeed Naval College.

Sheikh Mohammed signed his book 'Flashes of Thought' to allow HCT students read his book electronically. Then he lectured HCT preparatory students about his book. Sheikh Mohammed accepted a commemorative plaque that reflects features of Arab authentic heritage from Sharjah HCT Girls on the occasion of graduation of the batches 22 and 23.  He thanked them for their good initiative, wishing them more success on equal footing with men to achieve sustainable development of the beloved country.

Sheikh Mohammed posed for a commemorative photo with the graduates from the Khalifa bin Zayed Air College and Rashid bin Saeed Naval College. He urged them to continue acquiring more educational achievements and training, wishing them success in the service of their nation.

The event was attended by a number of ministers, senior officials, dignitaries and senior army officers.

Mohammed sets up Dubai Centre for E-Security

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, has issued Law No. 11 of 2014, establishing the "Dubai Centre for E-Security".

The centre will be a corporate body and enjoys legal status, financial and administrative autonomy. It aims to protect information, communication networks and government information system in Dubai. It also aims to develop and modify the use of necessary means in the e-security, and develop efficient ways to save and swap information among all government authorities in the emirate.

Sheikh Mohammed also issued Law No. (11) of 2014, on the formation of Dubai Centre for E-Security's Board of Directors, under the chairmanship of Mohammed Dhaen Al Qamzi.

The decision will be effective from the date of its issuance, and shall be published in the official gazette.

Law No. 11 of 2014 has specified functions of the Centre regarding government information security in Dubai, including the setting up the emirate's policy in the field of government information security, implementation and setting up of the necessary regulations to ensure e-security in the emirate, in addition to overseeing and preparing a strategic plan to address any risks, threats or attacks on the government information in coordination with the competent government departments. 

The centre will combat cyber crimes  of all its types and coordinate with government, regional and international organisations regarding the centre's work field, as well as providing technical and logistics support to all government entities in Dubai.
