His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended today the graduation ceremony of the 37th batch of cadet officers of Zayed II Military College in Al Ain.
The ceremony began with the national anthem, upon his arrival at the headquarters of college accompanied by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region.
Following the rendition of the UAE national anthem, Sheikh Mohammed inspected the graduates parading in formation. Graduating cadet officers then took oath before him.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Dr. Sheikh Saeed bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Hazza Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Dewan of the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region; Lieutenant General Obaid Mohammed Al Ka'abi, Under Secretary of Defence Ministry; Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Ajman, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces ; Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; Director of Dubai Ruler's Office Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan; Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality along with a number of dignitaries, top officials, senior officers, and military attaches of Arab and Foreign countries, as well as the families of the graduating officers.
Graduating cadet officers saluted His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in a military parade then took oath vowing loyalty to the UAE and President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Commander of the College Staff Major General Salem Hilal Suroor Al Kaabi in his speech paid rich tribute to UAE President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his continuous support for the college and thanked Sheikh Mohammed for his patronage of the graduation ceremony.
Al Kaabi congratulated the graduate cadet officers from the 37th batch highlighting their achievements being the first batch to obtain the Bachelors degree in Military Science and Administration. He also praised their skills and military capabilities.
Sheikh Mohammed then presented the top cadet officer graduates with appreciation awards and wished them success in serving their country.
He stood for a group photo with the graduates and expressed pride in the graduates of Zayed II Military College and their commitment to serving their homeland. "This is the first step for you to become top leaders in the UAE Armed Forces," he said.
Mohammed bin Rashid receives senior Arab and foreign military officers
The UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has received at the Zayed II Military College senior Arab and foreign military officers, UAE armed forces' officers and heads of the diplomatic corps accredited to the UAE, who called to greet him on the graduation of the 37 batch of cadet officers.
Sheikh Mohammed wrote in the VIP Register of the college that "We are proud of the graduation of these eligible cohorts of our youth who join our valiant armed forces, equipped with scientific and military efficiency. They are qualified to be future commanders in various sectors of our armed forces."
He called on the cadet officers to be worthy of the confidence of their leadership, people and to uphold virtue, good manners and honour.
Sheikh Mohammed wished them success in service of their dear country.
Media Office releases 'Scenes from a Journey' book
The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) has released its annual book showcasing the official activities of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, during the year 2012.
The book includes photographic documentation of Sheikh Mohammed’s meetings with UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Their Highnesses Members of the UAE Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates as well as world leaders. The book also highlights His Highness’ local, Arab and international visits.
The publication also renders a comprehensive account of His Highness’ activities and accomplishments in various sports, economic and educational fields, and his chairmanship of cabinet meeting. The book also documents His Highness’ attendance to poetic and cultural events, as well as His Highness honoring the winners of Dubai Government Excellence Programme Awards.
The 207 page book classifies His Highness’ meetings, visits and activities based on the month.
