Mohammed meets Ban Ki-moon, WEF chief

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday toured the Future Museum on the sidelines of the 3rd Government Summit, being held at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed and General Mohamed were briefed about the new generation future government services, especially in the field of education, health and smart cities.

General Mohamed expressed his admiration for the museum and the participating innovative Emirati youth and others. The museum includes a laboratory designated for government departments and another one for students.

During the tour, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and General Mohamed bin Zayed were accompanied by  Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday received Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary-General, for talks on a variety of regional security, humanitarian and development issues.

Sheikh Mohammed and the UN chief also discussed means to promote the culture, peace and co-existence in the Middle East and the world away from religious extremism.

Ban Ki-Moon, who is in the UAE to participate in the 3rd Government Summit, lauded the Summit as a global platform for sharing visions and ideas that serve the humanity through provision of smart services that make human beings comfortable and happy. He noted that the unprecedented progress the UAE is witnessing thanks to wise vision of its leadership, which focuses on inclusive development in order to bring happiness to citizens and expatriate residents and support global economy.

Sheikh Mohammed and Ban Ki-Moon reviewed the latest regional developments, particularly transformations in Yemen and Syria, and stressed the need for making international efforts to bolster enablers of stability in the two countries and the broader region.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed further cooperation and coordination between the UAE and UN, mainly in humanitarian causes and issues regarding world stability and peace for the service of humanity.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received on the sidelines of the Government Summit, Professor Klaus Schwab, Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), today afternoon at Jumeirah, Dubai.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed and Dr. Schwab exchanged views on a number of economic, regional and international issues being addressed by the three-day long Government Summit. The summit focusses on future governments and services to people in the light of technological developments being witnessed by the world in all sectors.

Professor Schwab praised the summit, describing it as a global world platform that brings together experts, leaders and talented people in all fields to exchange information and expertise, as well as the UAE's experience in government management and transformation into smart government that will harness all technological advances and innovations in the service and happiness of humanity.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of the Cabinet Affairs, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Government Summit, Lt. General Musbeh bin Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the office of Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Duba, and Khalifa Saeed Sulieman, Director-General of Protocol and Hospitality Department in Dubai.
