Mohammed offers Eid Al Adha prayers

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, this morning performed Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Rashid Mosque in Zabeel district, Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai also performed prayers alongside Sheikh Mohammed.

Sheikh Mohammed and the worshippers listened to a sermon on good conduct delivered by al-Sheikh Dr Omer al-Khateeb. He said Allah urges Muslims to stick to good manners and do good deeds. He quoted Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) as saying "I was sent to complement morals....."

Al-Sheikh al-Khatib and Imam underscored that the Eid festivities have many meanings, including the introduction of joy and happiness to the hearts of relatives and people, especially children and orphans, as well as slaughter of sacrificial animal to draw closer to Allah almighty.

He noted that Allah calls for solidarity in general and during Eid festivities in particular.

Al-Sheikh Khateeb prayed to Allah to bestow his mercy on the souls of late Sheikh Zayed, Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Maktoum. May almighty Allah rest their souls in eternal peace.

He also wished well to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, and more prosperity, and sustainable security to the UAE.

Mohammed receives Eid Al Adha well-wishers

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, today morning received Eid al-Adha well-wishers at Zabeel Palace.

The well-wishers wished Sheikh Mohammed well, and more prosperity and continuous progress to the UAE. Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed exchanged with them Eid greetings.

Flanked by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed accepted the Eid greetings from Sheikhs, ministers, senior officials, tribal dignitaries, citizens and representatives of Arab, Muslim and foreign communities.

He also received the Eid greetings from senior officers from the Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, Police, Public Security in Dubai led by Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, senior officers from the Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs led by Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, and senior officers from the Directorate of Civil Defence led by Director General, Major General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi.
