Mohammed receives new ambassadors

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received the credentials of new ambassadors of fraternal and friendly countries, at Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Present were Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court; and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Sheikh Mohammed received the credentials of ambassadors of the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Sri Lanka, the Republic of Tunisia, the Republic of Yemen, the Republic of Cyprus, Australia, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Azerbaijan and of the Republic of Fiji.

The new ambassadors conveyed the greetings of their presidents and heads of government to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the new ambassadors, wishing them success in boosting cooperation and friendship relations between the United Arab Emirates and their respective countries.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said that the doors of government and officials are always open for joint consultations and exchange of constructive views and ideas that would open up new avenues of co-operation between the state and people, and nations and people of their respective countries for the welfare and benefit of all.

Also present were Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mohammed Ibrahim AI Shaibani, Director-General of His Highness the Ruler's Court, and Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, along with other officials.

New UAE Ambassadors sworn-in before Mohammed bin Rashid

Three new UAE ambassadors to friendly countries have been sworn in before His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Present at the swear-in ceremony, which was held at Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi on Monday, were Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Those who took the oath of office were UAE Ambassadors-designate Ali Abdullah Al-Ahmad, to the Federal Republic of Germany, Ahmed Mohamed Yousuf Al Tunaiji, to the Republic of Belarus, and Ahmed Hatem Al Menhali, to the United Mexican States.

The new ambassadors pledged their loyalty to the state and its President, respect for the Constitution and laws, and to place the country's interests over any other considerations while performing their diplomatic tasks with a high sense of honesty, integrity and confidentiality.

Sheikh Mohammed wished the three ambassadors success in their new assignments to serve the interests of the country and its people. The Ruler of Dubai also stressed that the UAE leadership and government is keen on drawing on the capabilities of its loyal sons and daughters, which stems from "our belief in God Almighty, our national bond and sense of community, our belief in coexistence, peace, and equality among all peoples, which has always been a consistent policy of the UAE since its inception," he said. Sheikh Mohammed went on to encourage the new ambassadors to believe in their abilities and to use them to consolidate the relations of friendship and cooperation between the UAE and the countries concerned.

The ceremony was also attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of Dubai Ruler's Court, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Mohammed Mir Abdullah Al Raisi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department.
