Mohammed sets up BUiD board of trustees

In his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued Decree No. (7) of 2015 forming the Board of Trustees of British University in Dubai (BUiD), chaired by Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

According to the decree, the Board is composed of the university’s Vice Chancellor, as deputy chair, and Hussain Hassan Mirza Al Sayegh, Maitha Mohammed bin Udai, Dr. Yousef Ibrahim Al Akraf, Dr. Khalifa Ali Humaid Al Suwaidi and Simon Moon; in addition to representatives from the British Council in Dubai and Northern Emirates, Emirates NBD and Rolls-Royce International Ltd.

Pursuant to the new decree, BUiD Board of Trustees will discharge all the responsibilities and authorities as prescribed by the Statute and Article of Association attached to Law No (5) of 2003 on the establishment of the British University in Dubai.

This decree is effective from the date of issuance, and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Mohammed receives copy of Al Suwaidi's book 'The Mirage'

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Tuesday received of a copy of  'The Mirage,'  the latest book authored by Dr. Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR).

Al Suwaidi presented the book to Sheikh Mohammed during the weekly gathering he held at Zabeel Palace for Sheikhs, ministers, notables, dignitaries, chairman of government departments and representatives of business and economic community.

'The Mirage' focuses on the idea of political mirage which religious and political groups try to promote amongst Arab and Islamic peoples.
