Mohammed visits Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions Exhibition

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,  Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Thursday visited the Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions Exhibition (GESS) on the concluding day at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

Accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed toured the various pavilions of the exhibition where he familiarised himself with the latest educational technology and smart learning programmes exhibited by more than 400 companies and government institutions around the world.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Education Minister Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami about the most important events taking place on the sidelines of the 7th Global Education Forum (GEF)and GESS. He added that more than 7000 educational professionals from local public and private schools have participated in training workshops run by world experts and specialists in the field.

Mohammed bin Rashid meets Chief Justice of DIFC Courts

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has met with Chief Justice of the DIFC Courts, Michael Hwang, in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Also present were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of DIFC.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Hwang on DIFC's most important achievements, as detailed in the annual report for 2013, which was handed over to Sheikh Maktoum, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Centre.

Chief Justice of the DIFC Courts outlined to Sheikh Mohammed the report's most important titles; most notably the signing of important agreements between the courts and many of the major business centres around the world, which has contributed to strengthening the position of the courts and the scope of its global presence.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid expressed satisfaction with the global level attained by DIFC, thanks to the efforts of those who are involved, and its excellence as a result of its transparency and efficiency, which are key elements in raising the level of performance of the courts and the confidence of the business community locally and internationally in the courts.

The meeting was attended Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President and Essa Abdulfattah Kazim, DIFC Governor, along with a number of officials.
