Senegal wins 'Best Minister in the World' Award

Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, honoured Senegalese Health Minister Awa Marie Coll Seck with the Best Minister in the World Award during the fifth edition of the World Government Summit that began today in Dubai.

Also present were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, and President of the World Government Summit, along with other ministers and officials.

The Senegalese Minister was selected as Best Minister in the World in the second edition of the award for her effective role in combating the spread of Ebola virus disease, EVD, by developing extensive programmes to raise awareness among citizens and visitors.

Seck was chosen out of eight candidates for the award, sponsored by the World Government Summit, in partnership with Ernst and Young, with the goal of honouring special governmental efforts and initiatives.
