Sheikh Mohammed honours winners of Dubai Government Excellence Programme

Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored on Tuesday the winners of 20th edition of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, DGEP.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai also attended the award ceremony that took place at the at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, also attended the award ceremony in the presence of a number of senior government officials in Dubai.

Coordinator General of DGEP Dr. Ahmed Al Nusairat thanked Sheikh Mohammed for attending the event and for honouring the winners. "This year, DGEP recognised excellence at government entities based on the fourth generation of government excellence system, which focuses on innovation, creativity and global leadership, in addition to result-oriented," Al Nusairat said.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed honoured the winners of the various categories of the Award. DGEP Award categories include: Best in Customer Satisfaction, Best in Employee Satisfaction, Distinguished Financial Performance, Distinguished Electronic Performance, Distinguished Team Performance, Distinguished Administrative Initiative, Distinguished Technical Project, Distinguished Government Employee, Innovators and Unsung Heroes among other categories.

Winners of the 20th edition of the award included Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Airports, Dubai Customs, Dubai Civil Defense Authority, Dubai Water and Electricity Authority, DEWA, Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, Road and Transport Authority, RTA, and Department of Economic Development.

In the special recognition award category, the ‘unknown soldiers’, a number of individuals were honored including the family of the martyr Jassim Essa Mohammed Al Baloushi from Dubai Airports, along with others representing Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Department of Finance, RTA, DEWA, Community Development Authority, Public Prosecution Dubai, Dubai Statistics Center, Dubai Corporation For Ambulance Services, Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Chamber Of Commerce, and Dubai Land Department.
