Sheikh Mohammed meets with UAE ambassadors, heads of diplomatic delegations

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met this evening with ambassadors, overseas national representatives, and heads of UAE diplomatic delegations in Arab and international organisations, who participated in the 11th summit organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation from 9th to 13th April.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, was also in attendance at the meeting, which was held in the Etihad Museum Conference Hall in the Jumeirah area of Dubai.

"I am happy and proud to meet and speak to you, with the attendance of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash (Minister of State for Foreign Affairs), and I ask you, my brothers, to be the advocates of goodness and peace for your country and people, as you are the eyes of your leadership in the countries where you work. You should always hold onto the virtues, morals, values and principles of your country, which can only be the values of tolerance, love of goodness, peace, charity, and openness towards others, while understanding them without bigotry or disregard for their geographic, religious or racial identity," His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said.

His Highness directed the ambassadors to promote their country in friendly nations and be the best representatives for their people and leadership, which cares for them and follows their daily activities and efforts to raise the stature of the UAE, establish its good reputation, and promote its social civilisation, material abilities, human energies, and sustainable development projects in different parts of the country.

His Highness asked the heads of diplomatic delegations and the country’s overseas representatives to oversee the condition of UAE citizens in their respective countries, especially those with illnesses, school and university students, businessmen, and tourists, to ensure their wellbeing and extend help and support to them, if needed.

"My brothers, you must continuously build bridges between your embassies and our citizens in brotherly and friendly countries, for that is your duty and you know your duty well; you do not need reminding. As a leadership, we care for the safety and happiness of the sons and daughters of our people, both inside and outside the country, so I remind you of that important national and humanitarian issue," His Highness added.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also stressed that people in the UAE want their country to become a perfect model for the region, with all the right qualities and abilities. He added that the Emirati people are the "soft power," the main factor in promoting and introducing the country as one that is full of educated, qualified people with foresight, while holding onto its solid political and humanitarian principles.

"I am proud of what was achieved for our people through our many accomplishments, and today, we visited the non-military Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra Region, where we viewed this vital national accomplishment. I also met the nation’s youth, who were trained to operate and manage this plant, and I thank Allah Almighty for I was relieved to find the youthful national citizens were serious about their education and training, achieving the standard of international scientists and experts," His Highness added.

His Highness also praised the performance of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his assistants. Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash highlighted for His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum the highly positive energy of Abdullah bin Zayed, underlining his desire to achieve his goals and convey the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.

His Highness praised the idea of organising the summit, sponsored by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, for ambassadors and overseas UAE representatives.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation; Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of H.H. The Ruler of Dubai's Court; Mohammed Abdullah Al Raisi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation; Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai's Protocol and Hospitality Department, as well as a number of the department heads and senior employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.
