Sheikh Mohammed receives Emirati scientists, scholars

Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, received on Wednesday members of the UAE Academy of Scientists and the Emirates Scientists Council, at Zabeel Palace, and exchanged the greetings with them on the holy month of Ramadan.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed expressed his satisfaction at meeting the elite of Emirati youth who work at a number of national institutions and bodies.

The event was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

While exchanging views with the youth scholars including engineers, experts and researchers, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said, "I'm happy to meet you in this wonderful Ramadan evening. I know where you work, but I look forward with wise leadership, to increasing this number of scientists, researchers and experts in multiples so that your State benefits more from you and fill the need of national institutions for national cadres including all technological, medical, engineering, space and other humanities disciplines that contribute actively and positively to sustainable development at all levels. "

He added, "The homeland is not built with ignorance and money, but it flourishes with the capacities of its educated sons and daughters, who are familiar with all kinds of science, knowledge and research."

"I see in you the future of this homeland, and you must assume your responsibilities with all honesty and dedication, and bear in mind the interests of your country before the achievement of self-interest because you are an example for next generations. And be at the best discretion for your leadership, family and people, and do not stop at a certain degree of science, knowledge and experience, but persevere and take every opportunity available for you."

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid continued, "the leadership gives you the appropriate opportunities, supports and encourages you as it counts on you to build a bright future for the State, for yourselves and the subsequent generations."

He urged them to keep the UAE on the map of global competitiveness so that it remains dear to its sons and daughters who are capable to contribute in various fields and at all levels.

Among others present were H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation; Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai's Department of Protocol and Hospitality, and Sara Al Amiri, President of Emirates Scientists’ Council, Deputy Director of the Hope Probe Project.

They all had the iftar meal hosted by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
