In implementation of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's directives, the UAE relief team at Ras Gadeer at the Libyan-Tunisian borders continues to provide food aid, medical supplies and shelter to the refugees fleeing from the events in Libya, pending their repatriation to their home countries.

Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Abdul Aziz, head of the UAE relief team, said the relief convoys were continuing to arrive at the Ras Gadeer camp to assist thousands of the displaced and stranded people at the Libyan-Tunisian borders to ease their suffering amid dire conditions.

He added that the humanitarian efforts were taking place in coordination with the Tunisian Red Crescent Authority, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other humanitarian international organisations.

Abdul Aziz stressed that the UAE relief camp has received over 1,000 displaced people.
