UAE Rulers offer condolences on death of Qatari Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday offered condolences to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, and his father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani.

They headed a high-level delegation comprising a number of Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, sheikhs and senior officials, to Al Wajba Palace where Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid conveyed condolences from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Sheikh Tamim and Sheikh Hamad.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also offered condolences to the sons of Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad and other family members, and prayed to Allah Almighty to bless his soul with mercy in Paradise and grant the royal family patience and fortitude.

Referring to the good deeds and traits of late Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad, they cited his service to his country as well as his co-operation with other Gulf leaders to establish the Co-operation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and bolster its progress.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad and Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa thanked Their Highnesses Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and the Rulers for their sympathies which reflected the profound relations between the two counties and their peoples.

They prayed for the protection of the UAE and the well-being of its leadership.

Upon their arrival in Doha, they were received by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar; Sheikh Jasim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of the Emir of Qatar; Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; sons of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa; Saleh Mohammed bin Nasra Al Ameri, UAE Ambassador to Qatar; Hadi bin Nasser Mansour Al Hajeri, Qatari Ambassador to the UAE, and senior Qatari officials.

The UAE delegation included Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman; Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah; Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain; Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance; Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group; Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, sheikhs and senior officials.
