UAE's Permanent Representative to IRENA sworn in before VP

Ali Aziz Abdullah Al Shafar was sworn in today before Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as Permanent Representative of the UAE to the International Renewable Energy Agency, IRENA.

Sheikh Mohammed directed the envoy to work hard to serve the interests of the UAE through direct continuous contacts with representatives of other countries so as to bolster its stature among producers of alternative energy and encourage investments in this vital and strategic sector.

Those who attended the swearing-in ceremony held at Al Mushrif Palace included Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Khalif Saeed Suleimen, Director-General of Dubai's Protocol and Hospitality Department, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
