The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the heinous terrorist bomb blast which recently killed three policemen in Bahrain, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty while defending right and justice, maintaining order and protecting innocent people.

First Lieutenant Tareq al Shehi, an Emirati, was among the martyrs of duty.

"The UAE, while affirming that this terrorist act will not deter it from shouldering its responsibilities of defending the brothers in Bahrain, expresses its full confidence in the competence and ability of the Bahraini security agencies to apprehend those responsible for this brutal crime and to bring them to fair Bahraini justice," the UAE Federal Cabinet said in a statement today.

The UAE also commended the progress the Bahraini security agencies had achieved so far in regards to investigation of the crime .

"While extending our sympathies and heart-felt condolences to the leadership and people of sisterly Bahrain on the death of the two policemen who were martyred along with the UAE's Al Shehi, we also wish a speedy recovery to those injured in the terrorist attack," the statement added.

"We also emphasise our unequivocal commitment to stand united in support of our brothers in the Kingdom of Bahrain in confronting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

"We also confirm our firm, full support for the National Dialogue Initiative launched by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, which seeks to enhance national unity and to maintain security and stability in sisterly Bahrain," the Cabinet statement concluded.
