Hiring Now: Emirates NBD, FGB, Mashreq

The banking and financial services industry is in hiring mode now and three local banks in the country that are looking to fill vacancies are Emirates NBD, First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Mashreq.

All three are looking for personnel to fill various roles that have opened up at the bank at various levels.

For example, FGB is looking to hire candidates in their treasury department. The bank is looking for relationship manager (corporate); unit head - corporate & investment banking; manager, global markets sales and AVP - internal audit among others. These positions are open both to the expat and the local population. However, some roles are strictly for UAE nationals only.

Off-shore vacancies have also opened up with the bank and roles have been advertised for its branches in Singapore, India and South Korea.

Emirates NBD (ENBD) is also looking to hire both expat and local professionals to fill slots, but some positions are exclusive to the nationals only. Roles that are vacant and have to be filled up include retail trainee; relationship manager; roles in retail distribution; in ENBD group finance among others.

Mashreq is also looking for candidates. Positions like payments product manager; channel manager; manager (cards collections); credit manager (SME); relationship manager; manager, retail credit operations (secured lending) among several other that have opened up with the institution.

According to the latest Monster Employment Index Gulf, BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance is the sector that is adding most jobs in the UAE and thus increasing employment opportunities for the jobseekers.

The Monster findings show that BFSI is the top-growth sector by the way of long-term growth in the country with a 17 per cent y-o-y growth.

And, with increased hiring the entire sector has seen a spike in salaries and bonuses. Overall, the banking sector is showing trends of increments and big bonuses, something that was seen in the heydays before the economic slowdown.
