As the Holy Month of Ramadan draws to a close, one story has emerged that speaks volumes of the man’s faith.

According to an Arab TV report, a Lebanese man living in the city of Nuuk in Greenland is the only Muslim in the country fasting for Ramadan – a total of 21 hours because of the country’s unique geographical location -  between the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean. In summer the sun rarely sets.

The man, identified as Wassam Azaqeer, has been living in Greenland for many years and according to the website ummid.com, quoting the Arab TV report, he is the only Muslim living and running a successful business in Greenland. Wassam runs his own restaurant.

After fasting 21 hours, Wassam has only two hours to prepare souhur – and also to offer Maghrib and Isha prayers.

Wassam says that he is very proud Muslim to be living in a state where he is the only one fasting and praying.
