Maid murders child with rat poison

An Indonesian housemaid in Saudi Arabia murdered the child of her employers by mixing his milk with mouse poison, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Thursday.

The maid confessed to police that she poisoned the four-year-old Mashari Booshal at his house in the eastern port of Dammam but Shams daily did not mention the motive for the murder.

His father said he had received many calls for the maid’s relatives at home asking him to drop the case and pardon him. The maid is to stand trial on Monday, the paper said.

“The murder of my child has had a severe effect on the whole family…I have received many calls for the maid’s family to pardon her but I am not taking any decision until after the court verdict,” the paper quoted the child’s father as saying.
