The Ministry of Labour has rejected the applications of a group of workers who requested to move from the company they were working for to other ones, taking advantages of the new decisions issued by the ministry in January according to Al Khaleej newspaper.
The workers claimed in their application that there were violations against them by their employers.
The ministry rejected the claim as the workers did not adhere to what is mentioned in the ministerial decision on transfer of employment.
“The workers also did not know the procedures governing this matter, which contains a set of conditions and criteria that must be met to approve their applications for the transition,” the ministry added.
An official said the ministry rejected these requests, because it was clear that the workers left their work without justification consistent with the new decisions.
He added: "They tried to take advantage of the new decisions announced by the ministry without understanding them clearly, what ultimately led to imposing the six months ban against them."
The official said the six months ban was never cancelled according to the new amendments.
