A mentally-ill Saudi man who went missing nearly six years ago suddenly appeared dancing in a YouTube film and his family finally managed to locate him in Yemen.

The 46-year-old man, identified as Nafei Al Daabali, left his house in the western town of Al Lith six years ago and never returned, triggering an extensive search operation by the police and his relatives through the Gulf Kingdom, the largest Arab country.

The film triggered a fresh search by Al Daabali’s relatives who said this week they had finally managed to locate him in Yemen.

Sabq newspaper said the family had informed police about Al Daabali’s whereabouts, adding that Saudi authorities in contact with Yemen’s police to hand him over.

It quoted relatives as saying Al Daabali looked ill as he is suffering from physical and psychological problems. The paper said Saudi police are baffled by how a man having mental problems crossed the border into nearby Yemen.

“The man has been found and is safe…Saudi authorities are in touch with police in Yemen to bring him back,” the paper said, quoting police sources.
