Mother and boyfriend arrested after her 3-year-old found dead

A Northern California woman and her boyfriend have been arrested on suspicion of murder in the death of her 3-year-old daughter, a day after the child's body was found in her apartment bed.

Napa police say 23-year-old Sara Krueger and 26-year-old Scott Warner were detained at a San Francisco Bay Area commuter train station after someone who recognized the wanted couple tipped off authorities.

They were booked on suspicion of murder and assault resulting in a child's death. Lt. Debbie Peecook said she didn't know whether the couple have retained an attorney.

Officers found Krueger's daughter dead while conducting a child welfare check on Saturday afternoon. Investigators say she showed signs of having been sexually assaulted and blunt force trauma.
