A Nottinghamshire woman plans to donate her womb to her 25-year-old daughter in the hope she can have a baby. Eva Ottosson will become the first woman to do so, reports Sky News.

Sara was born without a uterus due to the rare condition Mayer Rokitanksy Kuster Hauser (MRKH). Sara asked her mother Eva whether she would take part in the pioneering procedure, the television news channel revealed.

The 56-year-old Nottingham businesswoman told Sky News: "My first question to her was 'well isn't that kind of weird?'"

But the mother-of-two now thinks it is a sensible solution.

The young biology teacher spoke to doctors about the possibility of a womb transplant before checking whether her mother would agree to the procedure, said the channel.

Ottosson, who is originally from Sweden, said she is now happy to go ahead with the operation. She knows that the womb that carried her daughter might also carry her grandchild in the future, provided all goes well.
