NRI held for mistaking Kuwaiti for Bollywood actress and taking pics

KUWAIT - An Indian expatriate has been arrested for taking pictures of a 28-year old Kuwaiti woman on his mobile phone inside a commercial complex in the Fahaheel area. When the man was asked why he was taking the pictures, he told the police that he mistook her for a Bollywood actress, though he did not say which one.

According to arabtimes.com, the Kuwaiti woman was shopping in the commercial complex when she noticed the Asian expatriate take her pictures with his mobile phone.

When she confronted him, he tried to run away. A passerby managed to apprehend him and when the lady checked the man’s mobile phone she found her pictures.

She reported the incident to the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior and the man was arrested.

Girlfriend blackmailed

The Kuwait police have arrested an unidentified youth for blackmailing his girlfriend, the Al-Rai daily reported.

According to the complaint filed by the girl, she was in love with the youth, but one day he called her and asked for KD 3,000.

When she turned down his request he threatened to post her pictures on a website.

When the police arrested the suspect they found the photos on his cell phone, the report stated.
