As heavy rains lashed Dubai and other emirates this morning, some schools in the UAE are closing early.
In an text-message alert to their parent community, the Delhi Private School (DPS) in Dubai said: “This is to alert you that due to unfavourable weather, the school will get over at 12.45 pm instead of 1.45 pm. Buses will disperse at 12.50 pm. Please collect your child accordingly.”
In a statement, KHDA said the decision to close early will lie entirely on individual schools.
“Schools have the flexibility to do the needful in response to weather conditions and other operational issues prevailing on a particular day. KHDA trusts schools to make up for lost time and lessons in the subsequent days or weeks,” said Amal Belhasa, Chief of Compliance & Resolution Commission.
