2 pilgrims killed, 37 hurt in Saudi road crash

An Egyptian woman and a little Filipina were killed and 37 others were injured in a road crash while on their way to perform Umra (mini pilgrimage) in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, a newspaper reported.

The accident occurred after bus transporting the pilgrims from Egypt, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Philippines collided with a truck on the road between the capital Riyadh and the western town of Taif, Sabq daily said.

It quoted police as saying all the injured, including men, women and children, were taken to nearby hospitals.
