25% of students bullied at schools

Nearly 20 per cent of the students in preparatory and secondary schools in Saudi Arabia are abused or treated violently every year, according to a local study.

About 25 per cent of the students are also bullied by other school boys and teachers, showed the study released by Riyadh-based King Abdullah Medical Research Centre.

“Abuse and violence involved beatings, knives, daggers and other sharp objects, sticks, pens and bottles,” said the study, published by ‘Sabq’ newspaper.
