A cold spell will hit Saudi Arabia and other parts of the Arabian Peninsula on Friday and could last for at least three days that will see subzero temperatures in some areas, a climate expert has said.
In north Saudi Arabia, temperatures could dip to 7 degrees below zero while it is expected at zero degree in the central and eastern region close to the UAE and other Gulf countries, said Khaled Al Zuaq, a member of the Amman-based Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Science.
“As from Friday night, a cold spell will attack the region where temperatures will dip to critical levels…it could continue for three days or even more,” he said, quoted by the Saudi Arabic language daily Sabq.
