A 16 year-old Egyptian teenage girl from Qalyoubia governorate was subjected to attempted rape by three youngsters with help from her girlfriend.

A video which was shown on the TV programme  ‘10 PM’ (‘Al Ashera Masa’an’) presented by  Egyptian anchor Wael Ibrashi on Dream TV in Egypt shows three youths trying to force the girl to take off her clothes.

The three accused, whose voices are heard on the video, threatened the girl that they will film her to blackmail her in case she informed her father or police.

When the girl refused to take off her clothes, the accused youth started to beat her to control her.

In the video, the girl was clearly heard screaming and pleading them to leave her alone.

Gen. Mahmoud Yousry, director of security in Qalyoubia governorate, said in a telephone interview with the TV anchor that it was the girl’s father who informed the police.

He added that the father had accused the three youths in the 18 to 20 age group of kidnapping his daughter with the help of her college colleague  and trying to rape her.

Recounting her story, she said, “I was visiting my girlfriend when she asked me to enter another room. When I entered, I found three young men who locked the door and tried to force me to take my clothes off.

“When I refused, they started to beat me and tried to forcibly take off my clothes but I resisted,” said the victim.

She said they then filmed the scene with their mobiles and said they will take revenge and share the video on the Internet if I told my father or police.

“I cried and begged them but one of them put his hand on my mouth and hit me in my stomach while another person  filmed their attempts to rape me.

“I was screaming but they pulled my hair and threw me down on the floor and tried to sexually abuse me,” the victim said.

The police arrested the three youths and referred them to the prosecution.
