Thieves smashed their way into a jewelry shop in Kuwait under the cover of night and made away with nearly 30 kg of gold worth around KD300,000 (Dh four million).
Police said the unknown thieves entered the famous shop after smashing the locks on the main door, adding that a large cash safe was not touched.
The burglary took place in Jahraa area in Kuwait City and the Arabic language daily Al Watan said the market there lacked security cameras.
“The absence of security cameras made that jewelry company an easy target for the thieves, who managed to steal 30 kg of gold and flee,” it said.
