Aircraft tyre bursts just before take-off
An Egypt Air passenger aircraft had a tyre burst just before it took off from a Saudi airport but none of the passengers or crew members were hurt.
The Boeing 737-800 was gathering speed on the runway when the tyre burst just seconds before take-off at King Khaled international airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Saturday morning, prompting the pilot to stop the jet and cancel flight.
Egypt Air officials, quoted by the Saudi daily Sabq, said all the passengers were taken out of the aircraft while the plane was towed away for tyre replacement. The paper did not say how many passengers were aboard the place, which was en route for Cairo.
