Arab reacts to Aussies mocking veiled women

An Arab student assaulted a team of a private Australian TV men after he found that they are involved in a programme mocking Saudi women.

A YouTube film carried by the Saudi Sharq Arabic language daily showed the unidentified student with Gulf Arab features arguing with the Australian programme director before pushing him and trying to assault him.

Sharq daily said the Arab student on a scholarship in an Australian university intervened when he heard some Australian men wearing traditional Saudi female dresses were mocking women from the Gulf Kingdom.

A friend of the Arab stepped into the breach before police came and ended the argument. The paper did not say where in Australia the incident took place or how police tackled the problem.
