Baby flung 50mts in car crash survives
A seven-month-old baby escaped with light injuries from a road accident that hurled her nearly 50 metres to the opposite direction of a busy speedway in Saudi Arabia, a local newspaper reported on Friday.
The baby from a south Asian country was sleeping on her mother’s lap when their car was hit by another speeding vehicle on a motorway just outside the capital Riyadh, the Arabic language daily Alriyadh said.
“The baby flew nearly 50 metres off her mother’s lap because of the impact and landed on the other direction of the road,” the paper said.
“Police and civil defence teams could hardly believe their eyes when they found that the baby was only slightly hurt although she landed on the main road with busy traffic…the baby was taken to hospital for treatment while her mother and father also suffered from light wounds.”
