Child falls to death in pond

A three-year-old boy drowned to death after falling into a small pond formed near his house following heavy rain in Saudi Arabia, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The boy was playing with other children near the pond in the northeastern town of Haft Al-Batin when he slipped and fell into the water, Sharq Arabic language daily said.

“The boy fell into the pond and died there…his friends went and told his family,” it said without identifying the victim.
