Child lived 2 weeks with 'thorn in face'

A two-year-old Saudi boy lived for two week with a thorn stuck inside his cheek before his father discovered it while cleaning the wound.

Fahd Al Subaei said his son Mohammed was playing outside the house in the central town of Al Khurmah before he came back in crying of pain.

“I took him to some hospitals and not a single doctor knew there was a thorn in his face. All of them said it was a simple wound that would heal by time and gave me cream to rub it,” he told Sabq newspaper.

“But it got worse after a few days and my son did not stop crying. While I was trying to calm him down and clean the wound, a thorn suddenly emerged out. I pulled it and found that it was a palm date thorn nearly 2cm long.”
