Dad rejects suitor for not knowing prayer time

A Saudi father rejected a suitor for his daughter after he could not answer his question about the time of dawn prayers, a newspaper reported on Monday.

The suitor went with his father to the girl’s house in the northwestern Hail town and told her father that he would like to marry his daughter.

“The father said he does not mind but that he must answer one question. He told the suitor that if he answers it, then he will let him marry his daughter without dowry or any other expenses,” 'Ain Hail' Arabic language daily said.

“When the father asked him about the time of dawn prayers, the suitor stammered and could not give the right answer. The father then told him ‘if you cannot look after your prayers, then you cannot look after my daughter. I am sorry, you cannot marry her'.”
