Dead teacher summoned by education ministry

Kuwait’s education ministry summoned a female school teacher and warned it would freeze her salary unless she brings requested documents without knowing the woman died nearly six years ago, a newspaper reported on Monday.

The school’s management received a letter from the ministry for the teacher asking her to come to the ministry 'immediately' or her salary would be suspended, ‘ Al Rai’ said.

“We replied to them that the teacher died in 2008."

“This is a real tragedy that reflects the mess and chaos in the ministry’s data about its personnel,” the paper said, quoting a school source in the capital Kuwait City.
