Detained man uses mosque loudspeakers

Residents of a Saudi village were jolted out of their sleep just after dawn prayers when they heard deafening screams through the mosque loudspeakers. A man who was accidentally locked up in the mosque decided to wake up the entire village to regain his freedom.

After performing dawn prayers, residents of the village outside the central town of Makkah went home except that man, who was sat in an isolated corner reading the Quran. The Imam (preacher) of the mosque, then locked the door without noticing him.

“The man from Taif was visiting his father in law-- the Imam who locked him up accidentally,” 'Kabar' daily reported on Sunday.

“He had no choice but to use the mosque loudspeakers to call for help…many residents rushed to the Imam, who opened the door and let his son in law out.”
