A Saudi man parked his car in front of his house, boarded a plane and travelled to another city only to be informed by the traffic police that he had just violated speed limits and must pay the fine.
A few hours after arriving in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah, the unnamed man from the northern town of Tabuk received a text on his mobile phone from the traffic police asking him to come and pay a fine for exceeding the speed limit by his Toyota car.
“He was shocked by the message as he had left his car parked in front of his house in Tabuk,” 'Al Riyadh' daily reported on Tuesday.
“He quickly phoned his neighbour and asked him to check his car…his neighbour told him it is not there…he then realised his car has been stolen and was wondering whether he or the thief should pay the fine.”
