Drug use killed eight in Kuwait last month

Drugs killed eight people in Kuwait in January as the emirate and other Gulf oil producers struggle to combat narcotic smuggling by international gangs targeting the high-income region.

Official data published in local newspaper on Tuesday said the victims included six Kuwaitis and two expatriates.

The report did not elaborate on the causes of the death but newspapers said three Kuwaiti men died last week because of a drug overdose.
