Egyptian Army Chief on visit to UAE
Egyptian army's Chief of Staff Lt General Sedki Sobhi arrived in Abu Dhabi on an official visit during which he will hold high-level talks with senior UAE officials on ways of strengthening bilateral ties.
Lt General Sobhi stated that his trip to the UAE falls within the framework of consolidating military relations between Egypt and UAE, which he affirmed covers all aspects of military cooperation between the two brotherly nations without limits and boundaries.
He said that history would align the UAE's absolute backing of all demands of the Egyptian people in the June 30, Revolution with its historic stance in supporting Egypt in the glorious October war.
"The UAE stance towards the Revolution categorically underscored that interests of the two brotherly countries as well as threats aimed at their joint security and stability are also common. The UAE wise leadership, under President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is based on the policy laid down by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who held special esteem and place in his heart, mind and thinking for Egypt out of his belief that Egypt is the pulsing heart of the Arab World," the Egyptian commander added.
He said that the UAE stance had gone beyond the substantial economic assistance to harness its diplomacy and its political weight at regional and international levels to recognise the people's revolution in Egypt.
