Filipina Jewish nurse embraces Islam in Saudi
A Philippine Jewish nurse in Saudi Arabia embraced Islam and said she would look for a Muslim husband despite the angry reaction by her family at home, a newspaper reported on Sunday.
Mary changed her name to Mariam after embracing Islam, saying she was influenced by her colleagues at the hospital in the southern province of Asir near the border with Yemen, Sharq said.
“I now feel better…I never had this feeling of relief and tranquility before and I don’t care what my family will do,” she said.
“They (relatives) appear to be very angry through their repeated messages to my mobile…I now only want a Muslim husband and hope he would be a Saudi.”
